The internationally acclaimed Glenmuir High School Concert Choir is to perform at this year’s National Honours and Awards ceremony on National Heroes Day, October 17, at King’s House.
This prestigious group, directed by the talented Justin Leo Whyte, was founded in 1982 and comprises 45 members. Its repertoire include music of the Caribbean, Europe, United States of America and Africa.
The choir performs at schools, funerals, planned concerts, ceremonies, and has graced many international stages, including the International Music Festival in Germany, Choir Olympics in Austria and the Shrewsbury International Festival in England.
The choir has won several medals and received certificates of merit for outstanding performances over the years.
Mr. Whyte has expressed delight and honour for the national attention the choir has received and to be given the opportunity to perform at the National Honours and Awards ceremony, “especially at this time when our national heroes are being recognized and honoured”.
