A forum highlighting trade and investment opportunities in Jamaica will take place at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletics Centre in Boston, Massachusetts, on Saturday, November 4.
The forum is being held under the theme: ‘Unleashing the Potential’, and is part of an on-going series of events, aimed at increasing the awareness of the Jamaican Diaspora Movement.
Jamaica’s Ambassador to the US, Professor Gordon Shirley; Consul-General of Jamaica to New York, Dr. Basil K. Bryan and Honorary Consul to Massachusetts, Ken Guscott, will join representatives from the Jamaica Promotions Corporation (JAMPRO), the Jamaica Agricultural Development Foundation (JADF), the Bee Farmers Association, and Jamaica Money Market Brokers (JMMB), for an overview of existing investment opportunities, and doing business in Jamaica.
There will be three workshops and plenary sessions at the forum as well as a discussion on renewable energy and the investment opportunities that are currently available in Jamaica.
“Events such as these provide not only a pathway for economic development in Jamaica, but highlight the potential for countries like Jamaica to be the future marketplace,” Mr. Guscott told JIS News.
The forum will attempt to position potential investors in such areas as honey production and marketing, shrimp farming, and cotton production.
Participants are being asked to pre-register for the forum with the Office of the Honorary Consul in Boston at: 617-541-5510 x 27 or via e-mail at: pfarr@uhmgt.com.
