Former Deputy Mayor of Mo-Bay Passes on

Former Deputy Mayor of Montego Bay, Mr. Paxton Lloyd Scott, passed away on Sunday, March 21, in Lamesa, Texas, in the United States of America, where he underwent medical treatment for cancer.
Mr. Scott, who was 77 years old, served as Deputy Mayor in the early 1970s and as a Councillor for the Rose Hal-Salt Spring Division. As a member of the St. James Parish Council, Mr. Scott sat on six of the 15 statutory committees, which handled affairs relating to water; roads and works; town and development planning; poor relief; parks and gardens; and traffic.
He also served as a senior Justice of the Peace (JP); Chairman of the Mount Zion school Board and Bustamante Industrial Trade Union parish organizer. He was an elder in the Mount Zion United Church of Jamaica and Grand Cayman.
Left behind to mourn his passing are his wife Una, a former Manager of RJR’s Western Bureau; children Donna, Opal, Paula and Paxton Junior; sister Lerline, as well as grandchildren and other relatives.
