Foga Road High gets Help from Businesses in Clarendon

The Foga Road High School in Clarendon has received educational items from business operators in the parish, including a refrigerator, tables, chairs, computers and first aid supplies.
Principal of the school, Kerinth D. Campbell told JIS News that the support would go a far way in helping the institution to deliver quality education to the students.
“I am extremely happy. We started operating as a school last September, and recently I made an appeal to our business community for support and this is the result. Our sponsors include Jamalco, Guardian Life, Epic Hardware, Jamaica Netball Association, Tait’s Pharmacy, and Sunshine Pharmacy. Their efforts are the kinds that are going to enhance the growth of this school, as we deliver quality education to our students,” the Principal said.
Pamela White, Public and Community Relations administrator at Jamalco, said the gesture was one way of helping educational institutions in communities in which the company operated.
“Jamalco has an on-going educational thrust toward education in our communities and it is quite fitting for us to be a part of the development of this new school. We are very committed to building our people and I am most delighted to see the amount of corporate entities here, giving their support to Foga Road High,” she said.
The school has 230 first form students on roll, with the second form to be added in the 2008/09 school year.
