Five New Degrees to be Offered by Caribbean Maritime Institute

Minister of Housing, Transport, Water and Works, Robert Pickersgill has announced that as of September 2007, the Caribbean Maritime Institute will be offering five new Bachelor of Science degrees under its degree programme.
Mr. Pickersgill made the announcement during his contribution to the 2007/08 Sectoral Debate in the House of Representatives, yesterday (May 30).
The degrees to be offered include Industrial Systems Operation and Maintenance; Port Management; International Shipping; Cruise Shipping and Tourism Management; and Logistics and Supply Chain.
“These degrees are fully recognised by the University Council of Jamaica and will be delivered in conjunction with the University of Technology. The Caribbean Maritime Institute is the only facility in the region with this significant offering of degrees,” said Mr. Pickersgill.
He added that the Caribbean Maritime Institute has expanded the Professional Seafaring courses and a wide range of short courses, meeting the needs of the Shipping and Logistics industry in Jamaica and the Caribbean.
