Entries Being Accepted for Commonwealth Writers Prize

Submissions are now being welcomed for the 2007 Commonwealth Writers Prize (CWP).
A release from the Commonwealth Foundation said books can be entered on-line or by downloading and filling out the entry form available on the CWP website. The prize is open to any citizen of the Commonwealth and any work of prose fiction, that is, a novel or collection of short stories, with the exception of any work written for children alone, drama or poetry can be entered. Last year, Jamaican writer, Marlon James, with his debut novel, ‘John Crow Devil’, was named on the shortlist for best first novel in the 2006 CWP. Mr. James was among the five writers selected in the Canada/Caribbean region for best first book.
