Dr. Baugh Pleased with Work of Overseas Missions

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Dr. Kenneth Baugh, has lauded the work of the overseas missions in opening up diplomatic doors that have created investment opportunities and economic development for Jamaica.
Dr. Baugh, who was speaking to staff at the Jamaican Consulate General in Miami recently, said he was pleased with the outstanding level of expertise displayed throughout the Ministry, as well as the knowledge and ability displayed in negotiating on behalf of Jamaica.
He said as ambassadors for the country, the overseas missions must assist in bringing the attention of investors to the various opportunities in the island, especially in the areas of tourism and trade.
He noted that Jamaica continues to build bridges in areas of interest with nations such as China and Spanish-speaking countries including Venezuela.
Dr. Baugh emphasized hard work and productivity in order to facilitate the expressed interests as well as to maintain positive relations with the country’s diplomatic partners.
The Miami Consulate has a staff complement of 15 and serves 13 states in the Southern United States, as well as the Cayman Islands. The Jamaican Consul General is Ricardo Allicock.
