The Full Story

Cabinet has approved the transfer of shares owned in the Central Wastewater Treatment Company (CWTC) by the Urban Development Corporation (UDC), the Ministry of Water and Housing and the National Housing Trust (NHT), to the National Water Commission for the nominal sum of $1.00 in each instance.
This disclosure was made by Minister with responsibility for Information, Telecommunications and Special Projects, Hon. Daryl Vaz, during yesterday’s (June 30) post-Cabinet press briefing at Jamaica House.
He said that CWTC is a special purpose company established for the implementation of Phase 1A of the Kingston Metropolitan Area (KMA) Wastewater Project.
“The initial equity shareholders in CWTC were the UDC, NHT, Ashtrom Building Systems, NWC and the Ministry of Water and Housing,” Mr. Vaz said.
