Condolence Books for Lady Bustamante to Open on Monday…Lying-in-State on Tuesday and Friday

Arrangements have been made for members of the public to sign condolence books and file pass the body of Lady Bustamante, which will lie in state on two days.
The condolence books will be open on Monday August 3 through to August 7 at the following venues: the Bustamante Industrial Trade Union (BITU) on Duke Street; the Bustamante Museum on Tucker Avenue; the Jamaica Labour Party Headquarters; the Bureau of Women’s Affairs; all Parish Councils; Jamaica House, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and all overseas missions.
On August 4, the body will lie-in-state at the BITU from 10 a.m. to 1:p.m. and afterwards at the JLP headquarters from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. A Roman Catholic shrine will be installed at the Bustamante Hospital for Children for persons to visit and have quiet reflections and prayers.
On August 7 the general public will file past Lady Bustamante’s remains which will lie-in-state in the National Indoor Sports Centre from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be no viewing on the day of the funeral, which will be on Saturday, August 8, at the Sts Peter and Paul Church, Old Hope Road, starting at 1 pm.
The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) will provide the security services for the lying-in-state as accorded an official funeral.
Appropriate dress for these events is conservative attire.
