Chase Committed to Assisting Health Sector – Heaven

Chief Executive Officer of the Culture, Health, Arts, Sports and Education (CHASE) Fund, Mr. W. Billy Heaven, has given the organisation’s commitment to assisting the health sector to acquire the necessary resources to provide the best care for Jamaicans.
He was addressing the handing over of the new Jeffrey Town type one clinic in St. Mary on Friday (April 16), which was constructed at a cost of $10.9 million through partnership with the Digicel Foundation.
Mr. Heaven said the health sector is of critical importance to the national development process and CHASE intends to aid in the provision of facilities that are of high standard, which will afford Jamaicans the best quality health service.
Mr. Heaven told the audience that CHASE was pleased to partner with Digicel to provide the Jeffrey Town community with a fully operational clinic, noting that it was money well spent.
He said CHASE is willing to forge partnerships with other organisations to undertake similar projects.
Mr. Heaven informed that CHASE has implemented approximately $6 billion worth of projects since it began operations in 2003.
A total of 157 projects were undertaken in the health sub-sector for the 2009/10 financial year at a cost of approximately $309 million.
