The Full Story

The Jerk Q’zine Caribbean Grille restaurant in Union City, Georgia will celebrate its first anniversary on Saturday, May 19, with a carnival of activities.
Located in the Walmart Super shopping centre, approximately 15 minutes from the world’s busiest airport, Hartsfield-Jackson International, the restaurant, which is a subsidiary of Caribbean Food Delights and Royal Caribbean Bakery has been receiving rave reviews from its many patrons. The JerkQ’zine Caribbean Grille, known for its Jamaican and Caribbean cuisine, is the first such restaurant of its kind in the South side of Georgia. It was opened in May of last year. President and Chief Executive Officer of Caribbean Food Delights, Vincent Hosang said, “My company is very pleased to have brought to this suburb of Atlanta, a new concept in Caribbean fast food.” Mr. Hosang said Georgia was chosen for this first restaurant, because it has a strong customer base and a large Jamaican/Caribbean community. The CEO pointed out that one of the unique characteristics of the restaurant is its bright and cheerful Caribbean atmosphere, and said he will shortly announce plans to duplicate the effort in the Kenesaw area of Atlanta later this year.
Jamaica’s Honorary Consul in Atlanta, Vin Martin will deliver the keynote address at the anniversary celebration, which begins 11:00 a.m, while Union City’s Mayor Ralph Moore, will give the welcome address.
Among the officials expected to attend the festive occasion are: Claire McLeveighn, Director of External Affairs and International Relations at the Office of Mayor of Atlanta, Shirley Franklin; Chief of Police, Michael Isome; Chief Ken Collins, Union City Fire Department; and Councilwomen of the Union City Council, Angellete Meling, and Alisa King.
