Cabinet Begins Three-Day Budget Retreat Today

The Cabinet goes into retreat today(Friday/Feb 20) as it continues the process of preparing the 2009/2010 budget.
The three-day retreat will continue next week Saturday, Feburary 28, and will be completed on Sunday, March 1.
Today’s opening session will focus on issues related to the economy, the impact of the global environment on Jamaica and the 2009-2010 fiscalprogramme.
On February 28, members will make presentations on the priorities of their respective portfolios.
Cabinet met in strategic planning sessions in January. The outcome of these sessions will inform the deliberations at this month’s retreat.
