Cabinet Awards Contracts for JUTC Bus Tyres, Project Consultancy Services

Cabinet has awarded a contract valued at $60 million to Stewart Auto Sales Limited for the provision of 3,120 new bus tyres to Jamaica Ultimate Tyre Company a, subsidiary of the Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC).
“The tyres will be needed to meet the current needs of the JUTC and are to be supplied over a 12-month period,” said Minister of Information, Culture, Youth and Sports, Olivia ‘Babsy’ Grange, at the (Oct.17) post-Cabinet press briefing at Jamaica House.
In the meantime, a $71 million (US$1 million) contract was awarded to Mott McDonald Limited for consultancy services for the Falmouth Terminal Cruise Ship Development project.
Miss Grange told journalists that the consultancy services will include preparation of the design concept and the tender documents, completion of environmental impact assessment, evaluation of the pre-qualification and tender processes, as well as provision of post-contract services.
“The project involves the construction of a cruise ship terminal to simultaneously berth two vessels of the Genesis class of ships, which will be the world’s largest class of passenger ships,” she informed.
