The Full Story

Persons residing at Wakefield Drive in Falmouth, Trelawny, now have the opportunity to legitimise their tenure following Cabinet’s approval of the sale of the lands.

This was announced by Minister with responsibility for Information, Hon. Sandrea Falconer during a Jamaica House press briefing at the Office of the Prime Minister, on Wednesday, September 11.

She informed that the property, which is owned by the Trelawny Parish Council, is sub divided and all 10 lots will be sold for $12,320,000.

“Given the length of time that persons have occupied the lots, some for as long as 20 years, Cabinet also agreed to waive the requirement for the sale of the lots to be advertised,” she said, adding that many of the persons are low income earners and retirees.
