Minister of Information and Development, Donald Buchanan, told journalists at yesterday’s (Dec. 4) post-Cabinet press briefing at Jamaica House, that acquisition of the land would provide security of tenure for the 18 families that were occupying the property.
“This is being done under the special improvements infrastructure area of the Local Improvement Community Amenities Act, to ensure that these families enjoy security of tenure and are able to put up their houses and live in a sense of safety and security on these lands,” he stated.
