Cabinet Approves Funding for maintenance of Resort Areas

Cabinet has given approval for the maintenance of verges and medians in several resort areas of St James and St Ann. The projected cost is  JM $57.2 million which is part of the ‘Spruce Up Jamaica, Nice Up Yuself’ initiative to create an attractive environment in the resort areas. 

Minister with responsibility for Information, Senator Arthur Williams told the November 23 post cabinet press briefing at Jamaica House that  the cutting and bushing of the median and verges and the carrying away of debris will occur along the Elegant Corridor of Rose Hall, Howard Cooke Boulevard and Alice Eldemire  Drive in Montego Bay, St James. 

The areas in St. Ann to be enhanced are the Milford Road, Development Road, Runaway Bay and St Ann’s Bay. The Information Minister explained that the programme will provide a clean and aesthetically pleasing environment in the resort areas.
