Cabinet Approves Contracts for MRI Unit at KPH, Uniforms for BOJ Staff

Cabinet has approved the award of a contract to Arel Limited for the procurement of a Cassette modular building to house a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) unit at the Kingston Public Hospital.
“The acquisition of the unit is in keeping with the government’s continued efforts to enhance the capacity of the existing health infrastructure, by providing health care professionals with improved facilities and equipment,” said Information and Development Minister, Donald Buchanan at yesterday’s (July 2), weekly post-Cabinet press briefing at Jamaica House. The contract is valued at US$ 487, 430.
In the meantime, a two-year contract valued at $ 26, 679, 125 has been approved to provide uniforms for female staff of the Bank of Jamaica.
Minister Buchanan said that the contract, which will be undertaken by Designs by Marc, is in keeping with the labour agreement between the bank’s management and the Bustamante Industrial Trade Union (BITU).
