Cabinet Approves Contract to Rehabilitate Devon House

Cabinet has approved the award of contract to General Paving Company Limited in the amount of $22,891,910.00 million, to carry out infrastructure rehabilitation and upgrading works on the Devon House property. Information and Development Minister, Donald Buchanan made this announcement at yesterday’s (July 2) post-Cabinet press briefing at Jamaica House.
The project will involve rehabilitation work to the grounds of Devon House including the resurfacing of existing roadways; the construction of grass areas; storm water drain installation; the installation of paving stones for walkways; and repairs to sections of existing concrete curbs and general landscaping.
Cabinet also awarded a contract to Milestone Environmental Limited to provide cleaning and portering services at the Cornwall Regional Hospital.
“Cleaning and portering services will include, but not confined to, the cleaning of buildings- the Patient Care Unit, the Ambulatory Care, Diagnostic and Therapeutic Department, Logistic Services, Hospital Administration and Staff Support Services among other areas,” Minister Buchanan informed.
The contract is for a period of three years and is valued at $197,285,899.06.
