Cabinet approves contract for Ruthven Road housing development

Cabinet has approved a contract, valued at $81 million, to A. G Lowe Architects for the provision of architectural and engineering services for the proposed Ruthven Road Housing Development, to be located at 1-3 Ruthven Road, Kingston 10.
This disclosure was made by Minister with responsibility for Information, Telecommunications and Special Projects, Hon. Daryl Vaz, during a Post-Cabinet press briefing at Jamaica House, Wednesday (November 24).
Mr. Vaz said that the National Housing Trust (NHT) intends to construct multi-storey apartment blocks on approximately 5.7 acres of land at the site for qualified NHT contributors.
“Approximately 198 units will be constructed, comprising one, two and three-bedroom units,” he stated.
The contract was recommended by the National Contracts Commission and the Infrastructure Subcommittee.
