Cabinet Approves Board Directors and Chairpersons

Cabinet has approved the appointment of directors and board chairpersons for several government entities. Industry, Investment and Commerce Minister, Karl Samuda, made the announcement at the weekly post-Cabinet press briefing held yesterday (Oct. 31), at Jamaica House.
Former Police Commissioner, Colonel Trevor McMillan, will head the board of the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM). Ambassador Derrick Heaven has been appointed chairman of the Sugar Industry Association (SIA) and Entrepreneur Joseph Matalon, will head the board of the Development Bank of Jamaica (DBJ).
The other appointees are: Butch Hendrickson, National Export Import Bank of Jamaica (EX-IM Bank); Ian Moore, Petroleum Corporation of Jamaica (PCJ); Andrew Cocking, Students’ Loan Bureau (SLB); Howard Mitchell, National Housing Trust (NHT); Robert Russell, Tourism Product Development Company Limited (TPDCo); Godfrey Dyer, Tourism Development Fund (TDF); Professor Patricia Anderson, Statistical Institute of Jamaica (STATIN); Louis Williams, Urban Development Corporation (UDC); Dr. Wesley Hughes, Planning Institute of Jamaica (PIOJ) and the Jamaica Social Investment Fund (JSIF); Dennis Morgan, National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA); Colonel Audley Carter, Jamaica Fire Brigade; George Soutar, Betting, Gaming and Lottery Commission (BGLC).
In addition, Pat Rosseau, will head the board of Caymanas Track Limited (CTL), Robert Martin, Financial Institution Services (FIS); B. St. Michael Hylton, Financial Services Commission (FSC); Errol Hudson, Fiscal Services Limited; Rudolph Muir, Jamaica Racing Commission; and Eric Crawford, Public Accountancy Board.
