Broadcasting Commission Eyes Carnival

The Boadcasting Commission will be keeping an eye on this year’s Carnival activities, in continuation of its efforts to regulate violent and lewd forms of entertainment.
Chairman of the Commission, Dr. Hopeton Dunn, made the announcement during a press conference at the Knutsford Court Hotel on Tuesday.
“We will looking very closely at any form of output, including carnival and soca music, in relation to violations of the regulations,” he said.
Last Friday, the Commission announced the banning of the transmission of any song or music video which promotes violence or lewdness, including the act of “daggering”, a phrase used in dancehall music circles to describe a sex-simulating form of dancing, or which has to be “bleeped” or “beeped” for airplay.
