Bob Woolmer’s body released by the Coroner

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mark Shields says the body of Pakistan coach, Bob Woolmer is to be released.
The Coroner, Patrick Murphy requested the presence of DCP Shields at the Coroner’s Court this morning, where he directed that Mr. Woolmer’s body be released from his jurisdiction, and gave instructions for the process of repatriating the body to commence.
The Crime Chief says he will be taking personal responsibility to see that the coroner’s order is adhered to.
Mr. Shields says he has spoken to Mr. Woolmer’s widow, Gill, and apprised her of the latest developments.
DCP Shields says he has also been in contact, and is working with the funeral home holding Mr. Woolmer’s body, with a view to repatriating it to South Africa as soon as possible.
He said the Jamaica Constabulary Force will also do everything within its power to ensure the facilitation of the repatriation process.
Last Thursday, the coroner announced that the inquest into Mr. Woolmer’s death would be postponed indefinitely.
