The Full Story

In a heart-warming act of generosity, another entity is about to contribute to the reconstruction effort of the nation.
Not a large corporation or a foreign government, but a high school with youngsters who have willingly spared some of their lunch money to assist their fellow Jamaicans.
Ardenne High School has collected $110,000, which it will present to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Office of National Reconstruction, Danville Walker. The presentation will take place at the school during morning worship, on Tuesday, October 19.
Principal of Ardenne High, Esther Tyson, who impressed upon the student body the importance of giving to the less fortunate, explained to JIS News that she told the students that they were setting a target of giving $100,000 to assist with the rebuilding efforts. The funds, she said, were collected over a period of three morning devotions.
“I told them about the principle of giving and it shall be given back to you.and I told them, if as a school we practise giving to others, we’d be surprised how God blesses us in turn. I really wanted them to see this in action. As a school, I want them to give to other less advantaged than themselves,” the Principal said.
