The Full Story

Mayor of Falmouth, Councilor Colin Gager, has urged investors to adhere to all Parish Council building rules and regulations in the parish, as these will be enforced, irrespective of the magnitude of such investments.
Speaking at the official opening ceremony of the Icy Allen Care Centre, on the grounds of the Trelawny Infirmary recently, Mayor Gager emphasized that, “I don’t intend to allow individuals or companies, to run afoul of the regulations laid down by the Parish Council.I can assure you that there will be no partisanship or bias, in the observation of our building regulations. The strictest sanctions will be imposed”.
The Mayor made reference to the recent issue of a stop order by the Council on work being carried out on the multi-million dollar development of a cruise ship pier in Falmouth. The situation has subsequently been resolved and work on the project has resumed.
Meanwhile, Minister of State in the Office of the Prime Minister with responsibility for Local Government Reform, Robert Montague expressed his full support for the stance of the Trelawny Parish Council. He said that a clear message must be sent to all investors, large or small, that all Local Government regulations should be observed.
