66 Students Receive School Supplies from Administrator General’s Department

Sixty-six students, who have done well academically, were presented with school supplies by the Administrator General’s Department (AGD) on Thursday (August 31).
The students, who sat the Grade Six Achievement Test (GSAT), Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE), and the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CAPE), received packages containing thumb drives, geometry sets, notebooks, and rulers, among other things.
Of the recipients, 57 are beneficiaries of estates being administered by the Department, while the other nine are children of employees.
Addressing the Department’s third staging of its Educational Awards Ceremony at its downtown Kingston offices, Administrator-General, Lona Brown, extended congratulations to the students on their success.
She also lauded the guardians of the beneficiaries for their continued support.
“We are pleased that we are here for you although we cannot replace those you have lost, but we consider you all a part of the AGD family and we thank God that he has placed us together,” she told them.
To the parents who are staff of the AGD, Mrs. Brown noted that she had knowledge of “what they all went through” and heard of their “triumphant shouts of joy when they heard the results of the examinations”.
She wished for the students continued success throughout their academic life.
