May 18, 2012

The Full Story

The Government has set aside a total of $5 million for the continuation of the National ISO Quality Management System Certification Programme.

This is outlined in the 2012/13 Estimates of Expenditure, tabled in the House of Representatives on May 10.

The project, which is being implemented by the Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce, will be carried out throughout the public and private sectors.

The objective of the programme is to ensure that agencies of the government and private sector companies are ISO 9001-2008 certified, in an effort to improve the quality of public service and to enable businesses to become more internationally competitive.
