$103 Million Allocated for Police Facilities

A total of $103 million will be spent this financial year to undertake repairs on police facilities in the parishes of St. James and St. Catherine.
The project, which falls under the Ministry of National Security, is being financed through the Consolidated Fund.
This is contained in the 2017-18 Estimates of Expenditure, now before the House of Representatives.
For this fiscal year, the money will go towards acquiring land and completing building design for the facility in Montpelier, St. James; and construction and expansion of the Caribbean Regional
Drug Law Enforcement Training Centre (REDTRAC) in St. Catherine.
The project aims to facilitate construction and rehabilitative works on select police facilities.
