UK Diaspora Congratulates JLP

The Jamaica Diaspora United Kingdom (UK) has congratulated the Bruce Golding-led Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) on its victory in the 2007 General Election.
In a statement issued on (Sept. 4), the UK Diaspora movement said it was particularly pleased that in his first speech after the results, Mr. Golding emphasised the need for co-operation and to establish inclusiveness between the government and the opposition.
The Jamaica Diaspora UK also offered its full cooperation to the new government and said that the organization looks forward to continuing to work to build on the progress achieved so far to forge a strong and effective partnership between Jamaicans overseas and those at home.
The movement was officially launched in June 2005. It seeks to promote and protect the interest of Jamaica and Jamaicans and to contribute to the country’s development.
