Top International Executives Expected For ICT Summit In Montego Bay

Technology Minister, Hon. Phillip Paulwell will give the opening remarks on Day one of the Contact Centre and Strategic Sourcing Summit of the Americas for the Caribbean, Latin America and North America, scheduled for Montego Bay, Jamaica, February 8 – 11. The summit will feature up to 150 senior level executives in the Teleservices industry in the Americas.
The Summit is expected to be a major event on Jamaica’s calendar for the Information and Communication Technology sector as in recent months; the country has been able to attract millions of dollars of investments in the sector.
The Jamaica Promotions Corporation (JAMPRO), the state’s investment promotion agency has been instrumental in the recent development and continues to attract additional interest in the ICT sector.
The Summit is one of the top events on the Summit Circuit’s calendar and Jamaica’s position as an offshore location “will definitely be enhanced,” according to JAMPRO’s Investment Promotion Manager, Julian Robinson. He is also down to make a country presentation on the opening day.
The list of presenters at the Summit will include:
Jemima Bowden, Customer Relations Management, and Product Management – she is responsible for the development of new business for AVAYA Caribbean and Latin America, focusing on contact centre solutions. Miss Bowden began her collaboration with the Enterprise Networks group of Lucent Technologies in 1998 as a part of a team that achieved the number one market share position in contact centres in Latin America.
Tim Searcy, He has over 25 years experience working in some of the largest direct marketing companies in the world, including West Teleservices, Transcom and Rapp Collins/Optima Direct. He is currently part of a legal team which is looking at strategies to combat the recent FTC revision of telemarketing sales rules in the United States.
Patrick Casserly, CEO of e-Services Group International & Sitel Caribbean – a board member of JAMPRO, he has served as a director of the Free Zone. His presentation will be based on the vision and growth of the industry as it relates to site research, process planning and implementation.
Thomas Moroney, Vice President of International, Precision Response Corporation, has responsibilities for developing and implementing the company’s offshore delivery capabilities. He personally led the initiative to open overseas operations in the Philippines and India. Under his leadership, Moroney, PRC achieved $8 million in growth and projects 500 per cent growth in international growth in the next three years. Visit www.prcnet.com
The three-day summit will look at a variety of issues from Expanding Your Strategic Options, The Future of Outsourced Teleservices, The Culture of Innovation, to the focus on Jamaica as a Premier Nearshore Investment Location.
Delegates are expected to arrive in the island as early as Saturday, February 7 and the Summit will close on Wednesday, February 11 with a facility tour of contact centres and back office operations in the Montego Bay area.
