Statutory payments for October due November 15

November 12, 2010

The Full Story

The Tax Administration wishes to remind Employers that the payment of payroll deductions and contributions for PAYE (income tax), NIS, Education Tax and HEART for the month of October becomes due on Monday, November 15.
In keeping with the law, due dates which fall on a weekend or public holiday are extended to the next working day. This applies to the current statutory payment which would normally be due on the 14th of the month. However, because November 14th falls on the weekend, the payroll deductions now becomes due on November 15 and may be paid on or before that date, without attracting interest or penalty.
Employers are reminded that payments may be made at any of the 29 tax offices islandwide and that the Portmore Tax Office opens on Saturdays from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Alternately payments may be made using the administration’s online payment option at www.jamaicatax-online.gov.jm.
