September 15, 2004The Full Story
The troubled Spanish Town community remained relatively calm during and after the passage of Hurricane Ivan, with only four persons arrested for possession of minor quantities of ganja during the period of curfew on September 12.
Commanding Officer for St. Catherine North, Superintendent Wrenford Robinson, told JIS News on Monday (Sept.13), that police officers and soldiers have been out in full force keeping order in the town. Members of the army, he noted, had been out on the streets since Saturday, September 11.
He also disclosed that citizens have been very cooperative with the security forces. The business sector, he added, had been well protected throughout the period.
