Plea Negotiations and Agreement Act 2010 Revised

Parliament recently approved the Plea Negotiations and Agreement Act, a revision of the soon to be repealed Criminal Justice (Plea Negotiations and Agreement) Act 2010. Justice Minister, Delroy Chuck has expressed optimism that with the passage of the new legislation, plea bargaining will become a major component of Jamaica’s justice system. Minister Chuck was speaking with Ian Boyne on the JIS Television programme Issues and Answers. In the following excerpt of their discussion, minister chuck begins by explaining why the previous legislation was unsuccessful.
