Her Royal Highness, Princess Royal, Princess Anne, is hailing the wonderful reception from the Government and people of Jamaica during her three-day visit to the island.

She said she was “wonderfully entertained with that real flavor of Jamaica” during her visit, which got underway on September 30.

Her Royal Highness made the comment during her address at the closing ceremony of the Caribbean-Canada Emerging Leaders’ Dialogue (CCELD), held on Friday (October 2), at the Jamaica Pegasus in New Kingston.

The Princess, who departed from the Norman Manley International Airport shortly after the CCELD function, participated in a number of activities during her visit.

These included tours of the Mico College University, Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) headquarters at Up Park Camp, and the RJR Communications Group, where she interacted with children of the RJR Basic School.

She also paid a courtesy call on Governor General, His Excellency the Most Hon. Sir Patrick Allen, and participated in the Duke of Edinburgh Medal Awards, where she enjoyed drumming and traditional folk songs.

Her Royal Highness was also special guest at a reception, where she was welcomed by Prime Minister, the Most Hon. Portia Simpson Miller.
