Prime Minister the Most Hon. Andrew Holness is currently touring areas severely impacted by the recent heavy rains.

Some of the areas to be toured are Sunnyside, St. Catherine; Aenon Town, Clarendon; Cave Valley, St. Ann; Frankfield, Clarendon; Ebony Park, Clarendon; and Alley and Rocky Point in Clarendon.

Other members of the touring party include Minister without Portfolio in the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation, Hon. Dr. Horace Chang; Minister of Labour and Social Security, Hon. Shahine Robinson; State Minister in the Ministry of Finance and the Public Service, Hon. Rudyard Spencer; Director General, ODPEM, Major Clive Davis; Director of Communication and Customer Service, National Works Agency, Stephen Shaw, and representatives from the island’s emergency services.

Jamaica has been experiencing persistent rainfall over the past three days. The parishes of Kingston and St. Andrew, St. Catherine, Clarendon, Manchester, St. Elizabeth, St. Mary, Portland, and St. Ann have been severely impacted.

The Prime Minister, who was in the Dominican Republic on an official visit, cut short his visit and returned to the island last night to tour affected communities.
