Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller travels to Miami, Florida, June 20- 22 where she will be special guest at two events of the Union Institute and University, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary.
The Prime Minister who is a graduate of Union Institute and University will tomorrow address a special 50th anniversary reception, while on Sunday Mrs Simpson Miller will deliver the Commencement Address to graduates.
President of the Union Institute and University Dr. Roger Sublett said the institution is honoured that one of its most renowned alumni will be special guest at its 50th anniversary celebrations, adding: all of us at Union are proud of your many accomplishments and the definitive leadership role in so many areas.”
The Prime Minister will return to the island on Sunday.
During her absence, Dr Hon. Omar Davies, Minister of Transport, Works, and Housing will be in charge of the government.
