May 29, 2009

The Full Story

The Optimist Club of Mandeville will tomorrow (May 30) stage a gospel concert at the Manchester High School, to raise funds to carry out infrastructural improvement at the Top Hill All-Age School in the parish.
President of the Club, Kaysi-Ann Spence, informed that the funds raised will be used to rehabilitate the bathrooms, improve water storage, conduct roof repairs, and generally create a more comfortable environment for the students.
“We want to have hand washing stations… so that they (students) will be able to wash their hands and keep themselves healthy,” she stated.
The concert will provide entertainment for the whole family and will feature performances by the popular Khulcha Dance Troup, Rising Stars contestants, a sign language group from the parish, among others.
“You can expect to have a wonderful evening,” Miss Spence stated, while urging residents to support the event.
The concert will start at 7:00 p.m. at the Manchester High bottom auditorium.
