The Full Story

The Government of Jamaica will accord an Official Funeral to the late former Deputy Prime Minister and Cabinet Minister, the Hon. Seymour Mullings, OJ.

The funeral service for the former Parliamentarian will take place at the St. Matthew’s Anglican Church, Claremont, St. Ann on Thursday, 24th October 2013 commencing at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.

Condolence books have been opened at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and at the Peoples’ National Party Headquarters.

The ‘Foggy Mullings’ Night’ will take place in Claremont, St Ann on Saturday, 19th October 2013 commencing at 7:00 p.m., while the Vigil will take place at the PNP Headquarters on Wednesday, 23rd October 2013 commencing at 7:00 p.m. Public viewing of the body will also take place at the PNP Headquarters on Wednesday, 23rd October 2013 from 11: 00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Mr. Mullings, a former Member of Parliament for South East St Ann, entered Parliament in 1969, and served in several Cabinet posts including that of Minister of Finance and Planning, Minister of Land and Environment, Deputy Prime Minister and Ambassador to Washington.

Mr. Mullings died on October 9 at age 82.
