A new offshore patrol vessel, His Majesty’s Jamaican Ship (HMJS) Norman Manley, was commissioned into service by the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) in November 2023.

The Facts

  • South of the Kingston Palisadoes, Norman Manley Highway, Port Royal and Kingston Harbour.
  • Likewise, inshore areas North and South-westerly of the Sangster International Airport and its runway are restricted.

The Full Story

Mariners and other interested parties are hereby advised that effective over the period 8 -9 April 2015 the Jamaica Defence Force Coast Guard will be restricting the movement of all vessels in the following areas:

South of the Kingston Palisadoes, Norman Manley Highway, Port Royal and Kingston Harbour. The Easterly most point starts at 17° 56 39.76N, 076° 43 13.08W and then straight lines joining the following points: 17° 55 50.65N, 076° 42 51.38W, 17° 55 07.39N, 076° 46 31.95W, 17° 56 06.08N, 076° 52 17.45W and all of the Kingston Harbour.

Likewise, inshore areas North and South-westerly of the Sangster International Airport and its runway are restricted. The south-westerly most point starts at the closest point of land to Glouchester Avenue to 18° 29 20.71N, 077° 56 29.73W and then straight lines running through the following points: 18° 30 07.74N, 077° 56 11.87W, 18° 30 57.79N, 077° 54 58.99W and ends at 18° 31 06.55N, 077° 53 29.44W.
