The 16th staging of the Montego Bay Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Expo takes place at the Montego Bay Convention Centre in Rose Hall, St. James, from October 9 to 11, 2015.

The event, which allows business operators across Jamaica, but especially in the greater Montego Bay area to display their products and services to the wider public, is being staged under the theme: ‘Inspire, Create, Next generation’.

Addressing the launch of the event at the Wexford Hotel in Montego Bay, on July 29, Chairman of the Expo 2015 Committee, Sonia Clarke Bowen, said after 16 years, the event remains very relevant and this year’s staging promises to be the biggest and best.

Mrs. Clarke Bowen said a special focus will be placed on the use of modern, new and emerging technologies and how businesses can benefit more from their use.

“The expo 2015 theme…conjures up images and ideas relating to technology, speed, youthfulness, energy and the future. Expo 2015 speaks to creativity, customer focus and continuous innovations in commerce and industry,” Mrs. Clarke Bowen said.

She added that exhibitors at the event will be highlighting things Jamaican, with a push towards local production of unique and innovative items.

Meanwhile, President of the Chamber, Gloria Henry, is upbeat about the staging of Expo 2015 which, she pointed out, will seek to better its 95 per cent satisfaction rating received from exhibitors and sponsors at last year’s event.

Ms. Henry said with just under three months to go before the expo, things are falling into place as planned.

She added that the theme was carefully selected as it seeks to include every member of the business sector at all levels, with innovation and creativity at the centre.

MoBay Expo 2015 has received sponsorship from a number of companies, including Ward’s Power Tools, The Gleaner Company, Sagicor, Margaritaville, National Supply Limited, Fidelity Motors Limited, Power 106, Music 99, Mello FM, Western Mirror, Billy Craig Insurance and Life Call Medical Service.
