Jamaica’s remarkable performance so far at the International Sport Kick Boxing Association (ISKA) World Martial Arts Championship in Greece has brought high praise from the Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, the Honourable Olivia Grange.

“I’m delighted by the achievements of Akino Lindsay and Sheckeema Cunningham who have struck gold in the Championship,” the Minister said.

“We could not have asked for more from this small team of four athletes representing our country. The competition is not over as yet, so we are still expecting more good news. But whatever happens our athletes have done us proud once more.”

Lindsay defeated opponents from France and Germany before beating his Ukraine challenger in the final.

Debutant Akeem Lawrence and gold medal prospect Subrina Richards are the other athletes competing at the championships which end June 3, 2017.
