JCF Observes Police Week from November 23 To 29

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) will be observing Police Week 2014 from November 23 to November 29 under the theme: ‘Restoring Community Confidence Through Sustained Partnership.’

The week will begin with a national service at the Church of the Open Bible, Twickenham Park, St. Catherine, at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday (November 23). Other services will be hosted by area divisions across the island.

On Monday (November 24), the Mandeville-based Northern Caribbean University (NCU) will host an exhibition depicting various sections and formations of the police force.

This will be followed by a public lecture by Commissioner of Police, Dr. Carl Williams on the theme: ‘Professionalism and Transparency for Policing in Jamaica’.

The week of activities continue with the reading of the Commissioner’s message in schools on Wednesday (November 26); and on Friday (November 28), the members of the JCF will host an Eastern Impact Day in Port Antonio, with an exhibition and parade in the town square beginning at 10:00 a.m. and a concert at 6:00 p.m.

The week culminates with an Environmental Day, where police youth club members and other citizens will embark on projects to enhance the natural environment, such as tree planting.
