JAMPRO Nominated for World TPO Award

The World Trade Promotion Organisation (TPO) Awards will be presented for the first time at the 5th World Conference of TPOs to be held in Malta, October 1 and 2. Jamaica Promotions Corporation (JAMPRO), Jamaica’s investment and promotions agency is being nominated for one of the major awards.
The awards are being offered in five categories to give all TPOs – large and small, from developed, developing and transition economy countries – an opportunity to participate and a chance to compete. The ‘best of the best’ awards will be also given from the winners of the other five categories. JAMPRO will be considered for the ‘best TPO from a small country’ award.
The aim of the awards is to encourage excellence and recognize Best Practices in these organisations in important institutions for national economic development.
The conference is expected to address important issues related to the role that TPOs play in enhancing the competitive advantage of their countries and regions.
JAMPRO’s President, Patricia Francis and Executive Director, Veniece Pottinger will attend the conference and awards on behalf of Jamaica. Mrs. Francis will present on: Combining Trade and Investment Promotion – Challenges, Opportunities and Pitfalls on day one of the seminar. The other members of the presentation panel are from the United Kingdom, Malta and Canada.
