July 17, 2009

The Full Story

Jamaican-owned food production and distribution company, Golden Krust Caribbean Bakery and Grill, which is headquartered in New York, United States (US), is expanding its franchise operations in Atlanta, Georgia.
Jamaica’s Ambassador to the US, Anthony Johnson, will deliver the keynote address and cut the symbolic ribbon at the July 18 opening of what will be Golden Krust’s fourth Atlanta restaurant, located at 6025 Old National Highway, College Park, on the southern side of the city.
He will be joined by Jamaica’s Honorary Consul to Atlanta, Vin Martin and Fulton County Commissioner, Bill Edwards.
Owner of the new outlet, Michael Arnold, told JIS News that the decision to open the store on the southern side of Atlanta, resulted from a need to serve the growing number of Caribbean nationals, including Jamaicans who are residing in College Park.
“The restaurant business is growing in Atlanta and it is time that Golden Krust capitalises on this market and brings Jamaican cuisine to both the Caribbean and American community in Atlanta, as this is a great market,” he said.
Golden Krust is the fastest growing Caribbean food franchise in the US, with more than 100 locations in nine states. It is also the largest producer of Caribbean-made products in the US, since it opened its first store in the Bronx, New York in 1989.
