Jamaica AIDS Support gets Help from Consulate

Donations amounting to US$1,500, which were collected at the annual Independence Church Service hosted by the Jamaican Consulate in New York on August 10, have been sent to Jamaica Aids Support.
“We are very pleased that we were able to use the occasion of the Independence Church Service to bring comfort and much needed relief to those deserving of support in our society,” Jamaica’s Consul General to New York, Dr. Basil K. Bryan, told JIS News.
“We wish the Jamaica Aids Support continued success and we will continue to do our part by contributing to worthy causes,” the Consul General added.
Proceeds from the annual Independence Ball, which took place after the church service, will also be donated to several charities in the United States and Jamaica. Among them are, Boys’ Town and the Good Shepherd Foundation in Jamaica, and St. Patrick’s Foundation in the United States.
