The Full Story

As of 7:00 p.m., a one-way system will be implemented out of Portmore along Portmore Parkway, Dawkins Drive and the Causeway into Kingston. All other routes remain the same.
The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) is also advising persons who live along the coast or close to the sea to evacuate further inland.
Areas include:
1. Morant Bay to Yallahs to Bull Bay
2. Harbour View to Port Royal
3. Kingston Waterfront to Lower Portmore
4. Old Harbour to Sandy Bay
5. Milk River (Farquar Beach Area) to Alligator Pond
6. Great Bay to Treasure Beach
7. Black River to Font Hill
8. Whitehouse through to Bluefields
9. Savanna-La -Mar through to Negril and Lucea
10. Discovery Bay through to Falmouth
11. Ocho Rios to Port Maria via Oracabbessa
12. Annotto Bay to Buff Bay
13. Manchioneal to Port Antonio
During a hurricane, be aware that landslides and mudslides may also occur. Heavy or continuous rainfall will weaken the strength of the slopes. If you have had landslides in your area, they can recur.
