Grange Regrets Passing of Former Jamaica Footballer Syd Bartlett

The Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture, Honourable Olivia Grange, has said that she was deeply saddened to hear of the death of Sydney Bartlett, one of Jamaica’s best ever footballers.
Minister Grange said that Syd Bartlett deserves to be remembered as “a sporting icon for the unique talent he displayed on the football field playing for YMCA, Jamaica and for being a part of Jamaica’s first World Cup team which narrowly lost to Mexico in the qualifiers”.
The Sports Minister noted that the Kingston and St. Andrew Football Association had established a Syd Bartlett League in his honour as a lasting tribute to his tremendous service to Jamaican football.
Minister Grange expressed condolences to Syd Bartlett’s family, friends and associates.
