Governor-General, His Excellency the Most Hon. Sir Patrick Allen, is encouraging more Jamaicans to utilise energy-conservation and efficiency methods in their homes and businesses.

In a speech delivered by Custos of Kingston, Hon. Steadman Fuller, at the opening of the FosRich Group of Companies 2017 Exposition, at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel in New Kingston on April 4, the Governor-General suggested that renewable and sustainable energy and energy conservation are factors persons should consider in their everyday living.

“We are living in a time when there are concerns about our energy consumption, rising electricity bills and the growing cognisance to protect our environment through our energy use,” he said.

The Governor-General emphasised that the exposition is crucial, as it provides Jamaica with a roadmap to find renewable sources of energy and to help stimulate the economy through savings from efficient energy usage.

“This Expo is aimed at showcasing that holistic approach on how people should live in a modern environment where energy consumption and conservation must be carefully considered,” he said.

He noted that FosRich has partnered with several internationally acclaimed brands that have assisted the organisation to now offer certified, quality products to all consumers.

The Governor-General said no longer is there need to travel overseas to purchase the latest in lighting and electrical design, or to get the most modern energy-saving products and hardware product lines, as these can be acquired locally.

“I commend this ‘game changer’ – FosRich – for assiduously working at ‘Connecting Companies, Securing the Future’,  as part of their contribution to the National Development Agenda – Vision 2030 – to make Jamaica the place of choice to live, work, raise families and do business,” he said.
