Work being done on eight road sections in St. Elizabeth as part of a $7.7 million National Works Agency (NWA) hot mix patching programme, is slated to be completed by August 25.

In an interview with JIS News, Community Relations Officer for the NWA’s Southern Region, Howard Hendriks, said most of the roads that have been slated to be patched have been completed.

Among the roadways that have received attention are the Park to Mountainside corridor; the Aberdeen to Quickstep roadway; the stretch of roadway from Luana to Sandy Ground and the Southfield to Portsea main road.

“The only ones that are not completed right now are Red Gate to Washfoot Gully and Pizgah to Ginger Hill,” Mr. Hendriks said.

Repairs to the roadway began on July 27, 2017 and is being undertaken by one of the NWA’s Force Account Teams, through the Road Maintenance Fund.

Motorists are being advised to obey the warning signs as well as the instructions of flag persons along the thoroughfares.
