Dr. Patricia Marshall Dunwell to be Installed as Custos of St. Andrew

Governor-General, His Excellency the Most Hon. Sir Patrick Allen, will officially install dermatologist Dr. Patricia Marshall Dunwell, as Custos Rotulorum for the parish of St. Andrew.

Dr. Marshall Dunwell was sworn in during a brief ceremony held at King’s House on June 30.

The installation ceremony will be held at the Annuals Gardens, Hope Gardens on Thursday (August 18) beginning at 2:00 p.m. The function is open to the public and guests are asked to be seated by 1:20 p.m.

Dr. Marshall Dunwell has been a dermatologist-cosmetic surgeon since 1972 and specialises in the treatment of skin diseases in people of colour.

She is a well sought-after international lecturer, who has conducted workshops and lectured for many years in Postgraduate Dermatology and Cosmetic Dermatologic Surgery at the University of Wales.

Dr. Marshall Dunwell worked in the public service for nearly 20 years at the Kingston Public Hospital in the areas of internal medicine and dermatology.

In preparation for the installation of the new Custos, all Justices of the Peace for St. Andrew are being asked to sign the Magistrate’s Roll, located at the Musgrave Medical Complex, 84 Lady Musgrave Road, by Wednesday (August 17).

As Custos, Dr. Marshall Dunwell will be the representative of the Governor-General in St. Andrew.

As part of her responsibilities, she will serve as Chief Magistrate for the parish, and ensure that there are sufficient Justices of the Peace to serve the Petty Sessions Court and communities throughout St. Andrew.
