Condolence Books for Lady Bustamante Open in Canada

Condolence Books have been opened at Jamaican diplomatic missions in Canada for members of the public to pay their final respects to the late Lady Bustamante.
On Monday, August 3, the Condolence Book opened at the Jamaican Consulate General in Toronto, 303 Eglinton Avenue East, while the Condolence Book at the Jamaica High Commission in Ottawa, 275 Slater Street, will open on Tuesday, August 4. The books at both locations will close on Friday, August 7.
Lady Bustamante, popularly known as ‘Lady B’, was the widow of the National Hero, the Rt. Excellent Sir Alexander Bustamante, Jamaica’s first Prime Minister of Independent Jamaica, and one of the country’s seven National Heroes. She died on July 25, at the age of 97.
Accorded an official funeral on August 8, Lady Bustamante will be interred beside her husband in National Heroes Park. The day has also been designated a National Day of Mourning.
